ATLANTA – The Birmingham-Southern men's tennis team dropped its Southern Athletic Association opener 7-2 to Oglethorpe University Saturday. BSC moved to 5-5 overall with the loss.
Jameson Bekaert (Johns Creek, Ga./Rivers Academy) and Isaac Eck (Boca Raton, Fla./Home Schooled) took No. 1 doubles 8-4. The pair are now 5-1 on the year. The Panthers other win came at No. 3 doubles. Anthony Pellegrini (Huntsville, Ala./Huntsville HS) and Anthony Romano (Knoxville, Tenn./Webb HS) won 8-7. This was the first time the two had been paired together.
BSC remains on the road for another conference matchup. They take on Berry College tomorrow at 9 a.m. ET.
