Cross Country set to compete at first SAA Championship this weekend

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern cross country teams will travel to Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss., this weekend for the inaugural Southern Athletic Association Cross Country Championships. The race will take place on Saturday morning, Oct. 27.

Senior Robert Willett and freshman Kelsey Holdbrooks have led the way for the Panthers all season long. Willett was the top BSC runner in all six meets, including a first-place finish at the Tiger Twilight Invitational on Oct. 5. Holdbrooks was the Panthers' top women's runner in five of six meets.

"We are very excited about this weekend and getting a chance to represent BSC in the first SAA Championships," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "Our men and women have been working hard each week for the chance to perform well in our conference meet.

"This year has been a true test of our dedication and sacrifice, and each member believes in themselves and their teammates," Cox continued. "It will be a great weekend and we are excited about how we match up against our fellow SAA competitors."
