Roberts runs in BSC's first-ever NCAA Cross Country Championship appearance

MASON, Ohio—Birmingham-Southern cross country runner Chris Roberts competed in the 2014 NCAA Cross Country Championship today in Mason, Ohio, recording the program's first-ever appearance at the national level.

Roberts clocked an 8K time of 26:29.1, finishing 251st overall. He caps off a banner season after finishing 12th at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional last weekend, earning All-Region honors, and placing sixth at the Southern Athletic Association Championship, earning Second-Team All-Conference accolades.

St. Olaf's Grant Wintheiser was the men's national champion today with a time of 23:44.9, while North Central was the team champion, averaging a time of 24:36.
