BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Birmingham-Southern softball team's doubleheader against No. 19 Methodist University this weekend in Fayetteville, N.C., originally scheduled for Saturday, has been moved to Sunday morning at 9 a.m. due to the threat of inclement weather.
BSC is 2-0 after defeating LaGrange College last weekend, 5-3 and 8-0. Junior Jena Franks leads the team, batting .833 with five hits, five RBI, and a home run. Senior Kayla Backlund also hit a home run last weekend, and is second on the team batting .667.
Sunday's doubleheader will be the season opener for Methodist, who is ranked 19th in the nation.
