After five inches of snow was shoveled from the field, the Panthers scored first in game one and never looked back. Sophomore Ashley Bice took a two-out walk in the first inning and came around to score on a single up the middle by senior Jena Franks. Sophomore Ronni Ferris had a two-out, two-RBI single in the second inning to score freshmen Januar Page and Chelsea Fernandez. Bice came through again with a ground ball to second base that scored sophomore Beth Lefler, who had reached base on a fielder's choice in the fourth inning.
The Panthers scored their final two runs in the top of the sixth when lead-off hitter Page started the inning with an infield single, followed by a walk issued to Ferris, and capped off with a stand-up double to the left center fence by Bice. Bice finished the game with three RBI, while Ferris went 2-of-3 at the plate and Franks went 2-of-4.
Senior pitcher Tori Harris earned the win for the Panthers, delivering a seven-inning, six-hit performance while only surrendering three walks and striking out four. Greensboro College scored two runs, both unearned, on a dropped third strike and error.
BSC found patience to be a virtue in game two when the Panthers took seven walks and never struck out en route to a 9-6 win over Greensboro College. The game was called early in the top of the sixth inning due to darkness.
Harris led off the second inning with a walk and came around to score after some timely hits from junior Melissa Revis, Page, and freshman Allison Reynolds. The Panthers added four more runs in the fourth inning when Bice led off the inning with a walk, followed by solid hits from Reynolds and seniors Harris and Franks. Page finished the game going 2-of-3 with two stolen bases and scoring one run. Reynolds and Franks combined to go 3-of-6 with three walks, four RBI, and a double.
Ferris with the distance in the circle, throwing six innings while giving up 10 hits and six runs and recording seven strikeouts and only one walk.
