Ferris repeats as SCAC Pitcher of the Week, Aldridge named Co-Player of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomore Ronni Ferris has been named SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week, and freshman first baseman Misha Aldridge was named Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Ferris, a right-hander from Cincinnati, Ohio, threw two complete games this past weekend in the Panther Classic. Against Berry on Saturday, she gave up only two hits with 13 strikeouts in the five-inning shutout. Then against Huntingdon on Sunday, she went the whole nine innings and gave up five hits and one earned run with 12 strikeouts. Over the two games, she picked up 15 strikeouts (averaging 1.1 per inning) and posted a 0.50 ERA.
Aldridge, a native of Columbus, Ga., went 6-of-10 (.600) at the plate over this weekend's three games. She hit a two-run homer against Berry and recorded four RBIs on the week. Aldridge posted two hits in each of the three games this weekend and had a .900 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage. In the field, she led the Panthers with 23 putouts with no errors.
The Panthers are 6-0 on the season thus far, and travel to open SCAC play this weekend against Sewanee, Saturday and Sunday.
