Ferris, a right-hander from Cincinnati, Ohio, became on the second pitcher in program history to throw a perfect game this past Saturday in the first game against Rhodes, recording the program's third perfect game, and first since February 12, 2005. In that game, she struck out 10 of the 15 batters she faced.
Overall, Ferris appeared in three games of the four-game series against Rhodes, with two complete games and two shutouts. She recorded 17 total strikeouts in 15.2 innings of work and gave up only two hits and one run (not earned) for a 0.00 ERA and a .042 opponent batting average.
Ferris and the Panthers are 17-3 overall and 8-0 in conference play so far this season, and are leading the SCAC Eastern Division. They play at home again this weekend, taking on Centre College in doubleheaders on Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.
