Jena Franks earns NFCA All-Region accolades again

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior softball player Jena Franks has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Team, the organization announced today.

Franks, a shortstop from Muscle Shoals, Ala., was named Third-Team All-Atlantic Region. She also earned First-Team honors last season as a junior. This season, Franks was also named First-Team All-Conference.
She led the team this year in hits (38), RBIs (30), runs scored (29), slugging percentage (.646), triples (3), and total bases (64). She tied for third in the conference in triples, ranked seventh in on-base percentage (.479), and 10th in slugging percentage. Franks had 11 multi-hit and six multi-RBI games, and started the season on a 10-game hitting streak. In the field, she recorded 49 putouts and 57 assists with only eight errors for a .930 fielding percentage. Franks is now the BSC career leader in batting average (.401), slugging percentage (.675), and on-base percentage (.474).
