MONTGOMERY, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern softball team played Huntingdon on the road today and split, winning the first game 2-1 but dropping game two 6-4.

The Panthers now stand at 24-6 on the season, while the Hawks move to 21-10.

In game one, BSC scored its first run in the top of the second inning on an error by Huntingdon. Berkopec and Lopez were both 2-3 at the plate, and senior Ronni Ferris was the winning pitcher, moving to 10-4 on the season after recording four strikeouts and giving up four hits.

The Panthers got on the board quickly in game two, scoring in the top of the first on an RBI single from senior Ashley Bice. But the Hawks put four runs up in the bottom of the first, thanks in part to two BSC errors.

Huntingdon expanded its lead to 6-3 in the bottom of the fifth, and the Panthers scored once more in the top of the sixth but was unable to score again.

Both teams recorded eight hits; junior Chelsea Fernandez was 2-2 at the plate and Berkopec was 2-4.
