Cassady announces softball commitments for 2014 season

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–Birmingham-Southern Head Softball Coach Kimball Cassady has announced the nine members of the incoming freshman class for the 2013-14 year, who have all completed their intent to enroll in the College this fall and play for the Panthers next season.

The members of the freshman class of 2013 are:

  • Amanda Ballew (Outfield; Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS)
  • Taylor Brewer (Catcher; Gulfport, Miss./Harrison Central HS)
  • Rachael Dehlinger (Pitcher/Utility; Destin, Fla./Fort Walton Beach HS)
  • Torrie Garner (Catcher; Woodstock, Ga./Etowah HS)
  • Taylor Harkins (Pitcher/Utility; Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS)
  • Hannah Harris (Outfield; Trinity, Ala./West Morgan HS)
  • Megan Murray (Infield; Madison, Miss./Madison Central HS)
  • Maddie Ridgway (Outfield; Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS)
  • Alex Skene (Infield/Catcher; Littleton, Colo./Mullen HS)

"I'm so excited about this group of incoming players," Cassady said. "I'm looking for each and every one of them to contribute in a huge way, and I believe that, combined with our returning players, they can help get this program to the next level."
