Bassett, an infielder from Orlando, Fla., was named Player of the Week after helping BSC go 4-2 this week. She started in all six games and was 7-15 (.467) at the plate with four runs, three doubles, a home run, and six RBI. Bassett also drew six walks and had an on-base percentage of .652 and a slugging percentage of .867. She made 26 putouts with five assists, playing short stop and first base, with only one error for a .969 fielding percentage.
Fronk, a right-hander from Clay, Ala., was named Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0. She threw two complete-game shutouts in the Panthers' two wins against conference foe Berry, and gave up no earned runs in 17 innings for a 0.00 ERA. Fronk allowed nine hits with 10 strikeouts while allowing her opponents to hit only .155. She also made eight putouts with eight assists and no errors. Fronk was also an offensive threat, going 3-for-11 (.273) with an RBI and a stolen base.
The Panthers are on the road this weekend, traveling to Memphis to face Rhodes in a four-game conference series, with doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday at noon.
