BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Freshman softball player Micaela Beck has been voted Third-Team All-America by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the organization announced this evening at its Division III Championship Banquet in Salem, Va.
Beck, a designated player from Winfield, Ala., caps off an outstanding freshman campaign with the national honor after being named NFCA First-Team All-Region last week. She was the Southern Athletic Association Newcomer of the Year and a First-Team All-Conference selection after leading the league in home runs (11) and total bases (96). Beck ranked 17th in the nation in home runs and fourth in the nation with five sacrifice flies. She was also second in the SAA with 52 hits and 41 RBIs, and hit .380 for the season, which ranked her 10th in the league.
