  • Winter And Spring All-Academic Honor Roll Announced
    June 30, 2017
    ATLANTA – The SAA announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2017 spring term and a total of 1,033 student-athletes made the list. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.
  • Panthers Named to SAA All-Sportsmanship Teams

    ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association announced the 2017 Spring Sports All-Sportsmanship Teams and 79 student-athletes among the league’s eight full-time members received recognition. Formed in 2011, the SAA places a special emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play among all competitors.
  • Crumpton, Lee Named NFCA All-Americans

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern softball sophomores Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) and Savannah Lee (Lascassas, Tenn./Oakland HS) concluded their seasons by being named National Fastpitch Coaches Association Third-Team All-Americans. BSC was one of five schools with two student-athletes chosen.
  • Lee, Crumpton Named NFCA First-Team All-Region

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomores Savannah Lee (Lascassas, Tenn./Oakland HS) and Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) were named to the All-Atlantic First Team by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association this week. This is Crumpton’s second first-team all-region selection. Lee earned third-team honors last year.
  • BSC Holds Annual Athletics Dinner

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern athletics department announced the winners of its big awards and recognized the accomplishments of the student-athletes at its 2017 Athletic Awards Dinner Monday night in the Norton Great Hall on BSC’s campus.
  • SAA Tournament: Panthers Fall 8-0 to Centre

    CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team could not overcome a big third inning from Centre College Saturday morning and fell 8-0 in their third game of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament. The Panthers went 1-2 in the tournament to conclude their season at 22-18 overall.
  • SAA Tournament: Softball Splits First Day
    April 21, 2017
    CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team used a big fourth inning to help propel them to an 8-1 win over Hendrix College in the first round of the 2017 Southern Athletic Association Tournament Friday, but then fell 9-3 to regular season champion No. 3 Berry College. BSC is now 22-17 on the year.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Riding a four-game win streak, the Birmingham-Southern softball team hopes to take the momentum into the Southern Athletic Association Tournament this weekend. The Panthers (21-16, 8-8 SAA) are seeded fourth and open against fifth seed Hendrix College at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 21.
  • Six Panthers Earn All-Conference Honors; Lee, Crumpton Named to First Team

    ATLANTA – The SAA announced the 2017 Softball All-Conference Award winners at a banquet held at Warner Park in Chattanooga on Thursday evening. Top honors of Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year were garnered by Rhodes' Christine Hume and Berry's Marie Collop, respectively. Kayla Davidson of Millsaps earned Newcomer of the Year and Berry's Cori Thiermann claimed Coach of the Year after guiding the Vikings to a 35-2 season.
  • Panthers Blank Talladega in Doubleheader Sweep

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team shutout Talladega College in both games of their doubleheader Thursday. The Panthers (21-16) put up five runs in the first inning of game one en route to a 9-0 (5) win before blanking the Tornadoes 4-0 in the nightcap.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomore Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala. / Thompson HS) was named Southern Athletic Association Player of the Week for play April 3 – 9.

    DANVILLE, Ky. – Big bats helped the Birmingham-Southern softball team rout Centre College 11-0 in five inning Sunday, to improve to 8-8 in conference play.
  • Panthers Split At Centre, Improve to 7-8 in SAA

    DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team split its doubleheader at Southern Athletic Association rival Centre College Saturday. The Panthers (18-16, 7-8 SAA) fell 2-0 in game one and then shut the Colonels out 7-0 in the finale. BSC is now in fourth place in the league.
  • Cassady Wins 200th in Split with Transy

    WILMORE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team split its doubleheader with Transylvania Friday afternoon. The Panthers (17-15) dropped game one 2-1, but then went on to win 11-0 in six innings and handed Head Coach Kimball Cassady her 200th career win. The longest tenured coach in program history, Cassady is the first to reach the 200 win mark.

  • Panthers Upend No. 6 East Texas Baptist on Road

    MARSHALL, Texas – The Birmingham-Southern softball team defeated its second ranked opponent in two days, splitting their doubleheader against No. 6 East Texas Baptist Tuesday evening. The Panthers (15-13) won game one 2-1 and then took ETB to extra innings before falling 4-3 in the finale.
  • BSC Sweeps #17 Louisiana College on Road

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team got two much needed wins to kickoff a tough road trip against three ranked teams in three days. The Panthers (14-12) swept No. 17 Louisiana College 5-3 and 7-5 in their doubleheader Monday. This marked their first win against a ranked opponent this season.
  • Panthers Drop Night Series to No. 1 Berry

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team came out tough in game one of its Southern Athletic Association doubleheader against No. 1 Berry College Friday night. BSC (12-12, 6-7 SAA) trailed by just one run heading into the top of the seventh inning of game one, but eventually fell 7-4, and 13-1 in the nightcap.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team dropped its series finale to Millsaps College Sunday afternoon 5-2. The Panthers moved to 12-10 with the loss and 6-5 against Southern Athletic Association opponents.
  • Panthers Split Day With Millsaps

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Savannah Lee (Lascassas, Tenn./Oakland HS) hit three home runs in three at bats to help the Birmingham-Southern softball team shutout Millsaps College 6-0 in game one of their Southern Athletic Association doubleheader Saturday. But late runs in game two down the Panthers 4-2 in the finale. BSC (12-9) is now 6-4 against SAA opponents.
  • BSC Sweeps Huntingdon in Road Doubleheader

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern softball swept Huntingdon College 4-0 and 9-1 in six innings on the road Wednesday Afternoon. The Panthers improved to 11-8 overall with the wins.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team fell 8-3 and 5-4 on the road Saturday at Rhodes College to move to 7-6 on the year, 3-2 in Southern Athletic Association play.
  • Panthers Rebound to Run Rule Hendrix in Series Finale

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team trailed 3-0 going into the third inning against Southern Athletic Association rival Hendrix College Sunday when its offense exploded for four runs in the third and eight in the fourth. The Panthers went on to win 12-3 in five innings and improve to 7-4 on the year, 3-0 against SAA opponents.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team swept Hendrix College 4-3, 10-2 (5) Saturday afternoon to open Southern Athletic Association play in BSC Softball Park. The Panthers (6-4, 2-0 SAA) close the series Sunday afternoon in a single game at noon.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 13 Birmingham-Southern softball swept LaGrange College 7-3, 8-0 (5) Wednesday evening in BSC Softball Park. The Panthers are now 4-4 on the year. LaGrange dropped to 0-4 with the losses.
  • No. 13 BSC Unable to Hold Off Texas Lutheran, Drops Home Series

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Savannah Lee (Lascassas, Tenn./Oakland HS) went 4-for-6 including a home run and a double on the day to lead the No. 13 Birmingham-Southern softball team against Texas Lutheran. But the Panthers could not string together runs and fell 7-5 and 4-1 Saturday to move to 2-4 overall.
