BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern softball sophomores Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) and Savannah Lee (Lascassas, Tenn./Oakland HS) concluded their seasons by being named National Fastpitch Coaches Association Third-Team All-Americans. BSC was one of five schools with two student-athletes chosen.
This is the first all-american honor for the pair. Both were named first-team all-region, marking the second first team nod for Crumpton and first for Lee, who earned third team honors last year.
Ranked nationally in 18 different categories, Crumpton led the team in at bats, hits, RBI, doubles, and triples. She finished top three on the team in runs and home runs. The lefty also had a team-low ERA of 1.81. She struck out a team-best 107 batters. She finished with a 12-8 record, tossing 10 complete games and a team-high 127.1 innings.
Lee concluded her season as the NCAA Division III home runs statistical leader. She ranks nationally in nine different categories including third in slugging percentage. The first baseman hit .382 with a .918 slugging percentage. She ended her season leading the team in home runs and finishing second in doubles, runs, and walks.
