BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –No. 20 Birmingham-Southern softball improved to 26-5 with its 8-0 win over Southern Athletic Association rival Hendrix College Sunday. BSC is now 11-2 in SAA play with the six inning win.
Abby Spencer (Auburn, Ala./Auburn HS) went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI to lead the Panthers offensively. Bailey Murphy (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) went 2-for-3 including a three-run knock over the fence that put BSC on the board in the fifth inning.
She also pitched the complete game shutout victory, allowing only two hits and one walk. Murphy is now 4-0 on the year.
BSC remains at home for their next games. They host Emory University in a midweek matchup on Wednesday, April 10. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
