Men sixth, women seventh at Brenau Swimming and Diving Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Ga.—The Birmingham-Southern swimming and diving teams competed at the Brenau University Invitational this weekend, with the men placing sixth in a field of 10 teams and the women seventh amongst 12 teams.

The men's performances were highlighted by sophomore Duncan Bonney winning the 200 IM in a field of 36 swimmers. He was also second in the 400 IM and third in the 100 Breast. Sophomore Drew Priede placed third in the 1650 Free and fifth in the 200 Free. The men were also sixth in the 400 and 800 Free Relays, seventh in the 400 Medley Relay, ninth in the 200 Free Relay, and 10th in the 200 Medley Relay.

On the women's side, sophomore Hannah Busk finished sixth in the 200 IM and 200 Back, eighth in the 400 IM, and ninth in the 100 Back. Freshman Marilyn Rowell placed fifth in the 200 Breast, and sophomore Kristen Stempak was 10th in the 50 Free. The women were also 10th in the 200 Medley Relay, 800 Free Relay, and 400 Free Relay.

The Panthers are back in action Dec. 15-16 at the Delta State Winter Invitational in Cleveland, Miss.
