Swimming and Diving fares well in BSC Quad Meet
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams placed second on Saturday at the BSC Quad Meet, hosted at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The other teams competing were Rhodes College, Campbellsville University, and Darton State College.
On the women's side, sophomore Hannah Busk led the way with three first-place finishes (100 fly, 200 IM, medley relay), while sophomore Kristen Stempak took first in two events (50 free and medley relay), as did freshman Sam Laflin (100 back and medley relay). Freshman Jordan Ames also won the 200 fly.
For the men, Duncan Bonney continued his dominating sophomore campaign by winning the 100 breast, 100 free, 100 fly, and 200 medley relay. His 100 fly time of 51.34 is a new school record. Sophomore Drew Priede finished first in three events (200 free, 500 free, 400 free relay), as did freshman Ben Hodde (50 free, 200 medley relay, 400 free relay). Freshman Scott Taylor won the 200 IM and 200 medley relay, and junior David Lutomski won the 200 fly.
The Panthers are back in action next Saturday, Jan. 18, taking on Sewanee at 1 p.m. in Sewanee, Tenn.
