ROME, Ga.—The Birmingham-Southern swimming and diving teams posted a strong showing this weekend at the Berry Viking Invitational in Rome, Ga., as the women finished first overall and the men were second.
The BSC women beat out Converse College, South Georgia State College, Berry, Brenau, and LaGrange with 489.5 points. The men placed second behind Berry, who recorded 516.5 points, 39.5 ahead of the Panthers with 477. South Georgia State was third and LaGrange was fourth.
On the women's side, sophomore Hannah Busk won the 100 back and 200 back, freshman Samantha Norman won the 400 IM, sophomore Lauren Robertson won the 1,650 free, and the Panthers won the 200 medley relay.
For the men, sophomore Duncan Bonney won three events, the 500 free, 100 breast, and 200 breast, and sophomore Drew Priede won the 200 back. BSC also won the men's 200 medley relay and 800 free relay.
The Panthers are back in action this weekend in Pensacola, Fla., facing West Florida, Delta State, and Thomas University in a quad meet on Feb. 1.
