BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Sophomore swimmer Duncan Bonney is heading to Indianapolis, Ind., this week to compete in the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship, hosted by Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Bonney will compete in three events: 200-yard individual medley, 100-yard breaststroke, and 200-yard breaststroke. He is seeded second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:49.54, fourth in the 100 breast with a time of 55.20, and 14th in the 200 breast with a time of 2:02.07.
Bonney will swim the 200 IM on Wednesday, the 100 breast on Friday, and the 200 breast on Saturday, with preliminaries at 10 a.m. ET each day and finals at 6 p.m. ET.
"I am excited to see what Duncan can do at the national level," Head Coach Toby Wilcox said. "He has done a great job of working to prepare for this meet, and he has a strong chance to place very well. The championship is going to be very fast and deep—I believe less than a second separates the first place seed to the ninth seed."
Bonney had an outstanding season, winning seven individual Southern Athletic Association titles and being named SAA Male Swimmer of the Year for the second straight season.
