BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the third consecutive year, Birmingham-Southern College women’s swimming was named one of the College Swimming Coaches Association of American Scholar All-America teams, the organization announced Wednesday. Only teams with a program grade point average of 3.00 or higher receive the honor. The Panthers finished with a 3.21 team GPA.
“The hard work and dedication they learn at the pool translates directly to their success in the classroom and beyond regardless of division,” CSCAA Executive Director Joel Shinofield said of the teams recognized.
BSC excelled not only in the classroom, but in the pool as well. They earned eight all-conference nods in 2016 after finishing second in the Southern Athletic Association championships. The full CSCAA release on the Scholar All-America Teams can be found here.
