    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern athletics department announced the winners of its big awards and recognized the accomplishments of the student-athletes at its 2017 Athletic Awards Dinner Monday night in the Norton Great Hall on BSC’s campus.

    SHENANDOAH, Texas – Birmingham-Southern swimming and diving had a great week at the NCAA Division III Championships. Freshmen Noah Young (Clinton, Miss/Clinton HS) and Becca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) were named All-Americans and Chaz Brouillette (Cullman, Ala./Cullman HS) finished top 20 in the country in the 1-meter diving competition.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Three Birmingham-Southern freshmen continue their stellar seasons this weekend at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Chaz Brouillette (Cullman, Ala./Cullman HS), Becca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS), and Noah Young (Clinton, Miss./Clinton HS) are in Shenandoah, Texas this week looking to win a national title.
  • Women Win 2017 SAA Championship

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s swimming and diving team reclaimed the Southern Athletic Association team title Saturday night after outscoring the second place finisher by 57 points. This is their second conference championship, and first since 2014. Head Coach Toby Wilcox earned SAA Coach of the Year after the win.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s swimming and diving team dominated competition this week at the 2017 Southern Athletic Association Championships to win their third consecutive league title. The Panthers set a new SAA team points record with 1.013.5, which was 271 points ahead of second place finisher Centre College.
  • SAA Championships: Panthers Extend First Place Leads

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams extended their first place leads in the Southern Athletic Association Championships Friday night at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The Panthers combined for 10 top three finishes, including three championships to remain in first after day three of competition. The women are ahead of Rhodes College by 41 points, and the men lead Centre College by over 184 points.
  • SAA Championships: Panthers Win Four Titles in Day Two

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams sit in first place after day two of the Southern Athletic Association Championships Thursday night. The Panthers finished top three in nine events, including five championship titles at the Birmingham CrossPlex to take a commanding lead. The women are currently 20 points ahead of Centre College, while the men took a 115 point lead on Centre through 140 events.
  • SAA Championships: Panthers in First, Second after Day One

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's swimming teams opened the 2017 Southern Athletic Association Championships in first and second place after winning three of four 800 free relay finals at the Birmingham CrossPlex Wednesday night. Freshman Becca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) broke both the SAA and BSC 200 free record in her leg of the relay. Her time qualified her for NCAA's in the 200 free and helped pace the women's team to a school record relay time.

    Birmingham, Ala.- Erica Dekle (Mobile, Ala./ McGill-Toolen Catholic High School) just swam her last regular season race as a Panther for the Birmingham-Southern College women’s swim team. Dekle is finishing her degree in psychology before she graduates this spring.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Three members of the Birmingham-Southern men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were recognized by the Southern Athletic Association Tuesday. Sophomore divers Samantha Loew (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy HS) and Matt Lovell (Pelham, Ala./Spain Park HS), along with freshman swimmer Becca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS), were named SAA Student-Athletes of the Week.
  • Panthers Dominate at Viking Classic

    ROME, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s and women’s teams swimming teams closed out the regular season with big wins at the seventh annual Viking Classic. The women defeated four teams including Southern Athletic Association rival Berry College by scoring 727.5 points, to win by over 97 points. The men scored 849, winning by 237 points over Berry, Point University and LaGrange College.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After a stellar weekend, freshman Chaz Brouillette (Cullman, Ala./Cullman HS) of men’s diving was named Southern Athletic Association men’s diver of the week. This is his third weekly honor from the conference this season.

  • Men Top Sewanee; Women Split Competition

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s swimming and diving team defeated Southern Athletic Association rival Sewanee 178-92, while the women split their day at the Birmingham CrossPlex Friday afternoon. They defeated Sewanee 174-115, but fell to University of West Florida 181-103.
  • Men Ranked No. 21 Nationally, No. 8 in Region

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s swimming and diving teams appeared in rankings released by collegeswimming.com and the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. The men are No. 21 nationally and sit eighth in the West-Midwest-South Region.

    ATLANTA - The SAA released the swimming & diving Athletes of the Week for events competed this past week and, following voting by the league head coaches, Noah Young and Becca Erwin of Birmingham-Southern captured Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week, respectively. Sewanee's Winston Westbrook captured Men's Diver of the Week and Centre's Sarah Hayhurst won Women's Diver of the Week.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern men’s and women’s swimming and diving claimed three of the Southern Athletic Associations four weekly honors. Nico Medina (Davie, Fla./American Heritage HS) and Chelsea Chamblee (Boaz, Ala./Boaz HS) were named swimmers of the week, while Chaz Brouillette (Cullman, Ala./Cullman HS) earned male diver of the week honors.

    SEWANEE, Tenn. – Both the men’s and women’s Birmingham-Southern swimming and diving teams finished second at the Sewanee Invite out of eight programs competing. The women were just 39 points behind the winner.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams finished first in their home opener at the Birmingham CrossPlex Saturday afternoon defeating Berry College and Loyola University. The men scored 96 points while the women earned 116.

    ATLANTA, Ga - The SAA released the swimming & diving Athletes of the Week for events competed October 8 - 16 and, after voting among the league head coaches, Sewanee's Andrew Freibert won MSOW, BSC's Chaz Brouilette claimed MDOW, Berry's Josie Hadaway captured WSOW and Centre's Sarah Hayhurst collected WDOW.
  • Men Second at Derby City Invite, Women Finish Fourth

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s swimming team topped four teams to finish second at the Derby City Invite Saturday afternoon at the University of Louisville pool. The women finished fourth.
  • Men Top Rhodes In Season Opener, Women Finish Second

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s swimming team defeated Rhodes College 164-88 at the University of Memphis pool to open the 2016-17 season. The Panthers won eight different events en route to their first victory of the year.
