Men Second at Derby City Invite, Women Finish Fourth

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern men's swimming team topped four teams to finish second at the Derby City Invite Saturday afternoon at the University of Louisville pool.  The women finished fourth.

 

Top individual performances on the men's side included Chaz Brouillette (Cullman, Ala./Cullman HS) who won the 1m and 3m diving events, and Nico Medina (Davis, Fla./American Heritage HS) who finished third in the 200 free and 200 fly.

 

Jenna Luth (Pensacola, Fla./Booker T. Washington HS) set a new personal record in the 1000 free on the women's side. And Chelsea Chamblee (Boaz, Ala./Boaz HS) finished third in the 50 free.

 

The Panthers return to Birmingham for their first home meet of the season Saturday, Oct. 22 during homecoming weekend. It is a tri-meet with Berry College and Loyola University.  The meet is scheduled to start at noon in the Birmingham CrossPlex Natatorium.
