BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Three Birmingham-Southern freshmen continue their stellar seasons this weekend at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Chaz Brouillette (Cullman, Ala./Cullman HS), Becca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS), and Noah Young (Clinton, Miss./Clinton HS) are in Shenandoah, Texas this week looking to win a national title.
Brouillette was named SAA Diver of the Year after winning the conference title in both the 1 meter and 3 meter events. He qualified to compete in both at national's
Erwin, the Southern Athletic Association Newcomer of the Year, qualified to compete in the 200 free, 100 breast, and 100 free. Her time of 1:50.72 in the 200 free was the eighth fastest in Division III. She is the reigning conference champion in the 50 free, 100 breast, and 100 free.
Young will compete in the 200 IM, 100 back, and 100 free. He is seeded ninth in the 200 IM after winning the SAA title in a time of 1:49.89. Young is also the 100 free league champion and the anchor on the championship 200 free relay team.
