BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern swimming and diving teams competed against SCAD and Loyola of New Orleans at the Birmingham Crossplex on Saturday morning.
The Panthers men and women both split against SCAD and Loyola in the meet with the men defeating Loyola 134-126 and falling to SCAD 161-99; the women topped Loyola 142-120 and lost to SCAD 172-89.
Junior Nico Medina (Hollywood, Fla./American Heritage HS) took first in two events, the 1000- and 500-yard freestyles. In the 1000-yard freestyle, Medina finished with a mark of 9:53.32 and a 4:42.27 in the 500-freestyle.
Stewart won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:13.05, while Luth took the 200-yard breaststroke with a mark of 2:28.38.
BSC will go to the Sewanee Invite, a divers-only meet, on Friday, Oct. 26 before the Panthers travel to Bartlett, Tenn., for a meet against conference rival Rhodes on Saturday, Nov. 3.
