ATLANTA – Birmingham-Southern women's swimming and diving student-athlete Chelsea Chamblee (Boaz, Ala./Boaz HS) was named the Southern Athletic Association Women's Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Chamblee, a senior, helped the Panther women to two meet wins last week over Sewanee and Trinity. She competed and won the 50-yard freestyle event in both meets and finished second in the 100-yard freestyle against Sewanee.
Chamblee also participated in the 200-yard medley relay team where her foursome took first place in the meet against Trinity and second in the Sewanee meet.
The award is Chamblee's first SAA weekly honor since 2016 and the second of her career.
Chamblee and her teammates will compete next in the SAA Swimming and Diving Championships held at the Birmingham Crossplex on Feb. 13-16.
