Toby Wilcox was named head coach of the men’s and women’s swimming and diving program on August 24, 2011.  He spent the 2011-12 season recruiting student-athletes to the new program, which began competition in 2012-13.


The Panthers have won three Southern Athletic Association team titles in the past three years under Wilcox. Entering his sixth season at the helm, he has coached 45 individual conference champions, 18 conference relay champions, and 54 NCAA consideration cuts.  During his tenure, there have been six Southern Athletic Association swimmers of the year, three SAA divers of the year, and three SAA newcomers of the year.


In 2016, he was named SAA Coach of the Year after leading the men to their second consecutive conference title.  Four swimmers also went on to compete at NCAA’s.


Prior to that, he was the head coach at NCAA Division I Evansville for nine seasons, from 1988-97, and was named Midwestern Collegiate Conference (MCC) Coach of the Year three times (1990-91, 1995). He coached the first swimmer to achieve "B" standard at Evansville, and both his men's and women's teams maintained grade-point averages over 3.00. Wilcox coached 24 athletes to individual conference titles, and three MCC Swimmers of the Year.


Wilcox is a University of Evansville graduate, where he attended on a swimming scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1985. He was MCC and Heartland Collegiate Conference MVP in 1984, team MVP in 1983 and 1984, and served as team captain.


He currently resides in Mountain Brook, Ala. with his wife Cathy, son Cole, and daughter Reghan.
