Track & Field notches two provisional qualifying times at Clemson Tiger Qualifier

CLEMSON, S.C.—Sophomores Jessica Thornton and Robert Willett each recorded provisional qualifying times this weekend at the Clemson Tiger Provisional in Clemson, S.C.

Thornton placed second overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.88, which was not only a provisional time but a personal record and a school record. Willett's qualifying time was also in the 800-meter run, which he ran in 1:52.11, setting a new personal record.

"I can't say enough about how these two sophomores stepped up and ran with no regrets," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "It was a great showing at a big time environment like Clemson."

Freshman Tiarra Goode also ran in the 200-meter dash, placing 13th in a field of mostly Division I athletes with a time of 25.11, and she was 25th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.13.
