Track & Field announces two commitments

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern women's track and field program has received commitments from two athletes for the 2011-12 season, Head Coach Kenneth Cox announced today, as Hallie Jordan and Paige Holderfield have completed their intent to enroll in the College this fall.

Jordan, who comes from St. Thomas More in Lafayette, La., will compete for the Panthers in the sprints and long hurdles, while Holderfield, from UMS-Wright in Mobile, will compete as a sprinter, jumper and hurdler as well.

Cox believes that both athletes will make an immediate impact for the Panthers, and will look to post top marks in the SCAC.

"Both Hallie and Paige are incredible student-athletes who have proven that they can be successful in the classroom and within track & field," Cox said. "They are two young ladies that we are excited to watch grow and develop over the next four years."
