Goode, Thornton and Willett qualify for NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Sophomore Tiarra Goode and juniors Jessica Thornton and Robert Willett have qualified for the 2012 NCAA Division III

Indoor Track & Field National Championships, it was announced today.

Goode qualified in both the 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles, while Thornton and Willett will compete in the 800-meter run.

"This is a great day for our Track & Field program, our College and the student-athletes that represent Birmingham-Southern College," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "Each one of our team members have worked hard every day to continue to continue the tradition of excellence in the classroom and on the track and field. Giving up has never been an option and believing in what God has placed inside us has been the driving force behind all that we do.

"We are excited about this opportunity to represent Birmingham-Southern College and the entire state of Alabama at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Men's and Women's Track & Field National Championships this week."

Preliminaries will kick off this Friday, March 9, and finals will take place on Saturday, hosted by Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. For more information, including lists of participants and event schedules, click here.
