BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Sophomore sprinter Tiarra Goode has been named South/Southeast Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Goode, who hails from Huntsville, Ala., has top-five national rankings in the 100 Meters, 200 Meters, and 100 Hurdles. She won all three events at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships and also anchored the Panthers' 4×400 Relay to a second-place finish, to earn 32 team points. Goode also was recently named SCAC Women's Track Athlete-of-the-Year.
She will likely compete in the NCAA Division III National Championship next weekend at Burns Stadium in Claremont, Calif. In March, she won the 60-meter hurdles indoor national championship, becoming BSC's first-ever Division III national champion.
