BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern Men's and Women's Track and Field teams battled top NCAA Division I and II schools from around the southeast in the Samford Invitational Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Colin Perry finished eighth in the men's Heptathlon with 4194 points. Perry finished fourth in the 1000-meter run, eighth in the pole vault, 10th in the shot put and 60-meter hurdles, 11th in the high jump, 13th in the 60-meter dash and 14th in the long jump to comprise his point totals.
Tiarrra Goode highlighted the women's side, running a 7.86 to take 10th in the 60-meter dash, just two spots out of the qualifying for the finals.
Jordan Frazier turned in an 8.75 to claim 12th in the 60-meter hurdles. Hank Ballard vaulted 14-00.25 feet in the pole vault and Andrew Reece had a distance of just over 41 feet in the weight throw to post top 25 finishes, respectively.
The Panthers return to competition at the Sewanee Invitational in Sewanee, Tenn., on Saturday.
