BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Junior Tiarra Goode and senior Robert Willett will compete in the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday in Kenosha, Wis. Competition starts Friday with the preliminaries with the finals on Saturday.
Goode and Willett return to Indoor Nationals for the second consecutive year as Indoor All-Americans and Goode as the defending NCAA Division III Champion in the 60-meters.
"I am so proud of both of these student-athletes and leaders," BSC Head Track and Field Coach Kenneth Cox said. "They both work hard day in and day out to raise the bar and represent BSC at the highest level, and they deserve to be competing at DIII Nationals."
Goode qualified for the 60-meter hurdles and 60-meter dash last weekend at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The Huntsville, Ala., native set a new career best and new school record in the 60-meter dash, running a time of 7.72 and a season-best of 8.84 in the 60-meter hurdles.
Willett qualified in the 800-meter run and clocked career-bests at the UW-Stevens Point with a time of 1:51.7,putting him in a solid position in the national race.
"Not everyone gets a chance to return to the NCAA Championships and for us to return and be in a great position to compete is truly a blessing that we don't take for granted," Cox stated. "We are excited about the upcoming weekend and are ready to represent Birmingham-Southern College in Naperville, Ill."
