MOBILE, Ala.--Senior Robert Willett and junior Tiarra Goode both recorded first-place finishes on Saturday at the Jaguar Invitational, hosted by South Alabama in Mobile, Ala.
Goode won the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.48, while Willett won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.74.
Birmingham-Southern was the only non-Division I program at the six-team meet.
Goode also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.91). Senior Jessica Thornton placed second in the 800-meter run (2:19.16), and freshman Katie Ann Bass was fourth in the same event (2:24.13).
On the men's side, highlights included junior Hank Ballard finishing seventh in the pole vault (4.50m), freshman John White placing seventh in the 400-meters (51.57), and freshman Scott Wheat finishing seventh in the 1,500-meters (4:15.70).
"This was a strong meet for our teams and I am proud of the way that they competed, as we had a number of season bests today," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "Our men and women are working hard and really coming together as we prepare for our April schedule."
BSC is at home this Friday, April 5, hosting the Hilltop Twilight Six-Way Classic at Panther Stadium. It will be Senior Night for the Panthers.
