BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–Junior Tiarra Goode has been named the South/Southeast Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association of America (USTFCCCA).
Goode, a junior from Huntsville, Ala., dominated the 100- and 200-meters and the 100-meter hurdles races at the SAA Championships to cement her status as SAA Track Athlete of the Year. Throughout the two-day championships, Goode recorded the division's best 200m time in 24.22 (+0.4m/s) and its No. 5 100m hurdles mark in 14.19 (+0.4m/s), and helped the sprint relay team to a third-place finish. She also holds the division's third-fastest qualifying time at 100 meters in 11.94 (+2.6m/s).
Goode will travel with three of her teammates to La Crosse, Wis., this weekend for the 2013 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, competing in the 100m, 200m, and 100m hurdles.
