BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Results from the 2013 Indoor Track and Field Icebreaker, hosted today by Birmingham-Southern at the Birmingham CrossPlex, are now available.
Competing in the meet were 19 teams from across all divisions; over half of the squads were NCAA Division I.
BSC's performances were highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the men's pole vault by senior Hank Ballard, who recorded a mark of 4.30m. Senior Cody Mann was sixth in the high jump (1.85m), freshman Chris Roberts was 10th in the 3K (9:18.83), and sophomore John White was 11th in the mile run (4:46.23).
On the women's side, freshman Taylor Davis finished 12th in the high jump with a mark of 1.50m, freshman Sage Jordan was 16th in the 400m dash (1:00.94), and freshman Elise Pittman was 16th in the mile (5:41.05).
"Thanks to all of the teams that competed today at the Icebreaker," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "It was a great event and the perfect way to kick of the indoor season. We are proud of our athletes that were able to compete today and we look forward to building off of their performances as we enter into the New Year."
The Panthers return to action Jan. 10-11 at the UAB Blazer Invitational, also held at the CrossPlex here in Birmingham.
