BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern track and field teams will host the 2014 Southern Athletic Association Indoor Challenge this Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Billed as an unofficial SAA indoor championship, Saturday's meet will feature all eight conference teams competing in the state-of-the-art CrossPlex.
"We are very excited about the this weekend's meet!" Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "Among the conference coaches, we have talked for a while about being able to create an indoor meet that would allow for our teams to come together and compete. Traditionally, we have only had an opportunity to come together for outdoor championships. This is a great event for us and one that we look forward to building, especially during the end of the indoor season when championships are taking place."
Running and field events both begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the CrossPlex. BSC fans can also catch the Panther swimming and diving teams at the CrossPlex this weekend at the SAA Championship. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, coinciding with the start of the SAA Indoor Challenge.
