BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Sophomore Jordan Frazier will compete on the national stage this weekend, traveling to Lincoln, Neb., for the 2014 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University.
"It was really exciting to win the conference title in the 110-meter hurdles last season as a freshman," Frazier said. "After that, this season I was looking to push it to the next level. Making it to nationals ended up being that next big step. It's all an indicator of the time and effort [Head] Coach [Kenneth] Cox and I have put into this indoor season."
Frazier will compete in the 60-meter hurdles, for which he is 14th in the nation with a time of 8.23 seconds. Frazier recently won the SAA Indoor Challenge 60m hurdles title, and he also won the 55m hurdles at the Sewanee Tiger Indoor back on Feb. 1.
"I am very excited for Jordan, our program and the College for the opportunity to compete at the NCAA Championship," Cox said. "Frazier has worked hard to get to this point and continues to grow within his role on our team and within his events. This has been a year of growth for a number of our athletes and he has believed in the process which means so much since he has many more years of success ahead of him."
