BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern outdoor track and field teams recorded 13 top finishes at the Hilltop Twilight Classic, Friday evening at Panther Stadium.
On the women's side, senior Elizabeth Bromirski won the high jump while freshman Emory Builta won the discus throw and freshman Harper DeWine won the pole vault. Freshman Sage Jordan won the 400-meter dash, freshman Elise Pittman won the 5K run, and the Panthers won the women's 4x400-meter relay.
For the men, senior Hank Ballard won the pole vault and the javelin throw, and freshman Michael Snow won the shot put and hammer throw. Senior Christian Clesi won the 3K steeplechase, freshman Chris Roberts won the 5K run, and freshman Otis Laskey won the 400-meter dash.
"This was a fun meet to host under the lights of the stadium," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "Our athletes really got up for this event and we had some impressive performances all around. We are working daily to prepare for the Southern Athletic Association Outdoor Championship [April 25-26 in Conway, Ark.] and know that it will take hard work from everyone that is a part of this family."
The Panthers travel to Mobile next weekend for the South Alabama Invitational.
