BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—After competing at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships last weekend, recent Birmingham-Southern graduates Hank Ballard and Elizabeth Bromirski have been voted Capital One All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Bromirski, a two-sport athlete (basketball and track and field) from Decatur, Ala., graduated with a double major in religion and psychology with a 3.84 grade point average. She was the 2014 Southern Athletic Association high jump champion and was also second in the long jump and third in the triple jump. Bromirsk finished 13th in the high jump at the NCAA Championship. She also earned First-Team All-Conference honors in women's basketball this season, and was named 2014 SAA Woman of the Year.
Ballard, a Hoover, Ala., native, graduated with a 3.64 GPA in biology. He was the 2014 SAA Men's Field Athlete of the Year after winning the pole vault and javelin at the SAA Outdoor Championship. His throw of 65.15 meters in the javelin was a school and conference record and put him at fourth in the nation on the outdoor performance list. Ballard placed 16th in the javelin throw this past weekend at the NCAA Championship.
