Michael Snow wins hammer throw at Emory Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga.—Sophomore Michael Snow won the hammer throw at the Emory Track and Field Invitational this weekend, with the rest of the Birmingham-Southern squad turning strong performances as well.

The Panthers posted six top-five finishes and 18 top-10 finishes, including Snow's winning throw of 42.77 meters. He also placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 14.38 meters. Sophomore Foster Johnstone placed fifth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:10.04, and sophomore Scott Lewis finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 6.76 meters.

On the women's side, senior Tiarra Goode placed third in the 200-meter run with a time of 25.58, and sophomore Harper DeWine was fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 2.92 meters.

The Panthers will travel back to Atlanta this weekend to compete in the Emory Classic, Friday and Saturday.
