BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Sophomore Michael Snow and freshman Jourdon Davison won two of the Southern Athletic Association's top track and field honors, it was announced this week, as Snow was voted Men's Field Athlete of the Year and Davison was named Men's Newcomer of the Year. In addition, 10 men's track and field athletes and nine women were named to the SAA All-Conference Teams.

Snow, a thrower from Trussville, Ala., led the outdoor season almost all year long in both the shot put and hammer throw, and did not disappoint at the 2015 Championship in Memphis last weekend, winning gold in both events.

Davison, a freshman sprinter and hurdler from Nashville, Tenn., competed in five events at the SAA Championship, recording four top-three finishes. He captured titles in the 400-meter run with a time of 49.64 seconds, and the 4x400-meter relay, anchoring the winning squad. Davison also guided the Panther 4x100-meter relay team to silver, and finished third in the 200-meters.

A freshman from Nashville, Tenn., Jourdon Davison enjoyed a huge SAA Championship meet on his way to collecting SAA Newcomer of the Year credentials. He competed in five events and recorded top three finishes in four them. Davison captured titles in the 400 meters with a time of 49.64 and mile relay in which he anchored the winning squad. He guided the Panthers 4x400 meters team to a silver medal and grabbed a bronze in the 200 meters to punctuate his first SAA Championship Meet.

The All-Conference Teams were decided by results at the 2015 SAA Track and Field Championship. Winning an event earned automatic placement on the First Team, whether done individually or on a relay team. A second place finish in an event qualified student-athletes for placement on the Second team, while third place results garnered Honorable Mention status.
