Panthers Perform Well at Hilltop Classic on Senior Day

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern outdoor track and field teams hosted their annual Hilltop Classic Saturday, welcoming six top teams from across the country.  It was also senior day on the Hilltop and the Panthers performed well in their final home meet of the season. 

 

David Campbell (Semmes, Ala./Murphy HS) won the pole vault with a personal record height of 4.40m.  The men's 4x100m team won in a meet record time of 41.94.

 

Jamal Watkins (Hampton, Ga./Dodge City CC) took first in the 100m dash, breaking his previous meet record by 0.11 seconds.  Watkins also won the 200m dash.

 

The Panthers hit the road next, competing in the Berry Field Day Invitational April 7-8 in Rome, Ga.  This will be their first look at the host site of the 2017 outdoor conference championships.
