Basketball hits the road this weekend to face Sewanee, Oglethorpe

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's basketball teams are on the road this weekend, traveling to face Sewanee, Friday, in Sewanee, Tenn., and Oglethorpe, Sunday, in Atlanta. Friday's doubleheader begins at 6 p.m. CT, while Sunday's begins at  1 p.m. ET.

The BSC men are 10-11 on the season. Sophomore Aaron Parr leads the way in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per game, while junior Nathan West averages 10.0 a game. Junior Roger Williams and sophomore Michael Rebarchak lead on the boards with 5.2 rebounds a game.

On the women's side, the Panthers are 13-9, led by sophomore Courtney Gibson averaging 11.2 points a game and senior Elyse Clay averaging 7.2 rebounds a game.

The Sewanee men stand at 5-16, while the women are 4-16. Oglethorpe's men are 14-7 heading into Friday's game against Rhodes, and the OU women are ranked fifth in the nation with a record of 19-2.
