BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's basketball teams host conference foe Rhodes College, Tuesday evening in a 5 p.m. doubleheader at Bill Battle Coliseum.
On the men's side, the Panthers are coming off a 70-64 win over Emory University last Friday. BSC trailed for the first 25 minutes of the game before taking their first lead at 14:53 in the second half and never trailing again. Dominic Whicher led with 15 points, including one from beyond the arc, and Aaron Parr returned to the BSC lineup and added 14 points and six assists. Roger Williams came off the bench with 12 points in 19 minutes, and Michael Rebarchak rounded out those in double-figures with 11 points and three blocked shots.
The Panthers split the season series with Rhodes last year with both teams winning on the road. BSC won 70-58 in Memphis and the Lynx took the season finale at Bill Battle, 65-63.
On the women's side, BSC recently won two games at the Coca-Cola/Huntingdon College Classic in Montgomery, Ala., defeating Rust College, 72-57, Friday, and Judson College, 86-42, Saturday. Against Rust, Erin Jackson led with 13 points and Katelyn Wilson posted 10 points, while Ashton Spurgin led on the boards with eight rebounds. Courtney Gibson also dished out six assists. Against Judson, Brandy Broussard led with 12 points, followed by Laura Kneiss with 11 and Wilson with 10.
The doubleheader tips off at 5 p.m. with the men's game, followed at 7 p.m. by the women's game.
