DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern (8-5) Panthers continued to struggle today, falling, 79-53, to the Centre College Colonels. The loss extends the Panthers’ losing-steak to four, as BSC remains winless in SCAC-play.
The Colonels jumped all over the Panthers from the beginning, in fact BSC did not lead in the game. Centre took a 39-27 advantage into halftime and continued to build from there. At its height the Colonels had a 32-point lead over BSC. The Panthers battled to the end but were never able to get in sync on the offensive end of the floor.
The Panthers were led by #Erin Jackson# with 18 points and three rebounds. #Danielle Harbor# and #Katelyn Wilson# added 10 points of their own to round out those in double-figures. Chelsea Goodman led all scorers and the Colonels with 19 points and six rebounds.
BSC shot 33-percent from the floor, going 18-of-54; 36-percent from three (8-of-22); and 75-percent from the charity stripe (9-of-12). The Colonels posted 46-percent from the floor, 33-percent from behind the arc, and 76-percent from the line.
The Panthers will return to Bill Battle Coliseum next Friday for a weekend double with Trinity University on Friday at 8:00 p.m., and then on Sunday versus Southwestern University at 6:00 p.m.
