Basketball heads out west for SCAC road swing

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's basketball teams hit the road this weekend, traveling to face Austin College, Friday, in a 6 p.m. CT doubleheader, and Colorado College, Sunday, in a 1 p.m. CT doubleheader.

The Panther men are 7-8 on the season, led by sophomore Aaron Parr averaging 12.9 points a game. Juniors Roger Williams and Nathan West are also averaging double digits with 11.3 and 10.4 points a game. Williams and sophomore Michael Rebarchak lead on the boards, averaging 5.8 rebounds a game.

The Austin men are 8-7 on the season. Kola Alade leads with 16.6 points a game, and Spencer Burke leads with 5.5 rebounds a game. The Colorado College men are 2-13, led by Brady Ohlsen with 14.3 points and 7.2 rebounds a game.

On the women's side, BSC is 9-7. Sophomore Courtney Gibson and freshman Erin Jackson lead with 10.6 and 10.5 points per game, respectively, and senior Elyse Clay leads with 7.4 rebounds a game.

The Austin women stand at 6-9 on the season, led by Katy Williams with 13.8 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Colorado College's women are 10-5, and Melanie Auguste leads with 19.3 points and 9.5 boards a contest.
