BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's basketball teams are at home this weekend, hosting DePauw University and Centre College in the final home conference weekend of the season. Friday's doubleheader against DePauw tips off at 6 p.m., while Sunday's doubleheader against Centre begins at 1 p.m., all in Bill Battle Coliseum.
The BSC women are 12-8 on the season. Sophomore Courtney Gibson leads with 10.8 points a game, shooting .479 from the field and .506 from three-point range. Senior Elyse Clay leads with 7.3 rebounds a game and senior Danielle Harbor leads with 4.5 assists a game.
DePauw's women are 17-3 and ranked 18th in the nation. Cassie Pruzin leads the Tigers averaging 11.3 points a game, and Emily Marshall leads with 8.2 rebounds a game. The Centre women are 14-6 heading into Friday night's game against Rhodes, led by Chelsea Goodwin, Maggie Prewitt, and Lauren Hunter with 12.6, 12.2, and 11.8 points per game, respectively, and Hunter also leads with 6.9 boards a contest.
On the men's side, BSC is 10-9 on the season, led by Aaron Parr, Nathan West, and Roger Williams, all averaging double digits with 13.4, 10.2, and 10.1 points per game. Michael Rebarchak and Williams are the team's leading rebounders, pulling down 5.4 and 5.3 boards a contest, respectively.
The DePauw men are ranked 25th in the country and are 15-5 on the season. The leading scorers are Mike Moore (19.4), Tom Callen (13.9), and Steve Lemasters (10.4), while the Tigers' leading rebounder is Callen with 6.4 boards a game. The Centre men stand at 15-4 and are led by Danny Noll and T.C. Thomason with 15.6 and 11.6 points per game, and Alex Lloyd with 6.3 rebounds a game.
