Alex Adams named SCAC Player of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Freshman forward #Alex Adams# has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Adams, a native of Smyrna, Tenn., helped the Panthers to two conference wins this past weekend against Oglethorpe and Sewanee. She scored a career-high 19 points in both games, and posted her second career double-double against Sewanee with 10 rebounds. Adams also pulled down nine boards against Oglethorpe to average 9.5 rebounds a game this weekend, and shot 15-of-26 (.577) from the field over the two games. She was also 2-of-2 from three-point range and 6-of-6 at the free throw line and had three assists and a block.
Adams leads the team in both scoring (12.6ppg) and rebounding (6.4rpg) this season. The Panthers travel to Montgomery to take on Oakwood University this Thursday before returning to Bill Battle Coliseum for their last home game of the season on Saturday at 3 p.m. against Rhodes.
