BSC Defeats Sewanee 66-32 On Sunday

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Elizabeth Bromirski scored 12 points and Birmingham-Southern (11-12; 6-6 SAA) used a series of runs in each half en route to a 66-32 Southern Athletic Association rival Sewanee (5-16; 0-12) on Sunday at Juhan Gym.

Guard Caroline King and Alex Adams also had double figures with 10 points apiece. Alex Adams led BSC with eight rebounds while Alexis Adams had seven. Kelsey Brown had six assists and Melanie short had three assists.

After a quick start by the Tigers, the Panthers jumped in front 15-5 after Alex Adams capped off a 12-2 BSC run with 12:53 to play.

Sewanee responded with an 8-2 run only to see BSC close the half on a 16-2 run with Alex Adams giving the Panthers a 32-20 lead at intermission.

BSC opened the second half on an 8-3 run to extend the lead to 19-points, 42-23, with 16:15 left on an Moore jump basket.

The Panthers continued to play well. BSC capped off a 24-6 spurt when Alexis Adams hit a jumper with 3:16 to play over the final five minutes.

Kayla Sewell led Sewanee with eight points and nine rebounds and Dee Bradford  followed with a four-point, five-rebound effort.

Birmingham-Southern close out the regular season with a pair of road games against Oglethorpe in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday at 5 p.m. and Berry College on Sunday at noon in Rome, Ga.
