BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Senior Yorisha Bryant has been named the Southern Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Bryant, a forward from Los Angeles, Calif., helped BSC move to 3-0 last week with wins at home against Emory and Huntingdon, marking the Panthers' best start since the 2009-10 season. She led the team in scoring in both games, averaging 23.0 points and 9.0 rebounds a game. Bryant went 16-of-24 (.667) from the field and 14-of-20 (.700) from the free throw line, while also recording five steals, four blocks, and two assists.
The Panthers are in action again at home this Tuesday, Nov. 24, hosting Covenant in a 6 p.m. tip-off in Bill Battle Coliseum.
